Lee grew up in Pennsauken, New Jersey, and could often be found on the neighborhood basketball courts or baseball fields. He went on to play both sports in high school and baseball in college. He has often been told he has a voice for radio and that he missed his calling.
But Lee’s calling has always been to help those in need. His father was a great inspiration as a Minister, who dedicated his life’s work to helping the people of his church.
Lee’s mother was very active in the church, as well as working full time as warehouse office manager. Lee learned much about being humble and working hard from his upbringing and he continues those attributes to this day.
Lee graduated from Lafayette College, then earned his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. He has worked as a Bankruptcy Lawyer for over 30 years.
Lee concentrates his practice in consumer bankruptcy work, representing only the debtors who need help getting a fresh start and not creditors trying to harass those who have financial problems. He does not focus on any other avenues of the law besides his Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 work.
Lee has written and lectured on bankruptcy for the American Financial Services Association, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and the National Business Institute. He was honored by South Jersey Magazine as one of South Jersey's best Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Lee has represented thousands of bankruptcy debtors in bankruptcy cases in New Jersey filed under Chapters 7, 11, 12 & 13 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code. He is admitted to the bar in New Jersey, the United States District Court, the Third Circuit of the United States District Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
Lee explains complex concepts to his NJ bankruptcy clients in a down to earth, "non-lawyerly" way, can usually be found in jeans and work boots in his office, and always keeps his sense of humor. Lee truly cares about each and every client. He provides compassionate, old-fashioned service and is excellent at helping clients lower their stress levels when they are faced with troubling debt.
You will see for yourself during your free bankruptcy phone consultation that Lee Abt is not just experienced, but also very compassionate and keeps it real. He never wants a clients to call him Mr. Abt, but rather Lee.
And instead of being on the basketball court or baseball fields, you can find Lee walking his 4 Chihuahua-mix rescues (his wife suddenly brought home to Lee’s surprise) along various walks in nature.
Lee is passionate about animals and enjoys being a dad to Sammie, Rosie, Vinnie and Frankie. They are even featured on the back of his business cards.
If you are struggling with debt and not sure who to select to speak to about bankruptcy, be sure to call Lee Abt. He offers a free bankruptcy consultation, affordable fees and payment plans for Chapter 13’s.
